Spend four glorious days in beautiful Havana, basking in the city’s awesomeness and getting to know the Cuban people.  Our tour includes among other visits: A driving tour of the city’s neighborhoods, the historic Revolution Plaza where Fidel Castro would speak for hours, the Malecón sea wall / A walking tour of the Plazas of Old Havana, with a discussion of the challenge of retaining housing in restored neighborhoods, and the plans for renovation of the Old City through tourism investment  / Baseball talk with the guys in Central Park / Visits with local artists at La Fabrica del Arte Cubano, one of the hippest night spots in Havana /  to the Partagas Cigar Factory / A guided tour of the Museum of Contemporary Art / A ferry ride across the bay to Regla and Iglesia de Nuestra Señora de Regla (the Church of the Black Virgin) / and a Visit to the El Museo de la Alfabetización (The Literacy Museum) that exhibits relics of Cuba’s 1961 literacy campaign.  Day Four, we travel to Santa Clara where our stay will include a visit to the Che Guevara Monument, the Museum of the Latin American Guerrilla Struggles, and visits to the sugar towns – Remedios, a quaint and quiet village – except as they prepare for the Christmas parades, the parrandas, and nearby Caibarien, a former sugar town, where you will meet a historian, who will talk about the end of sugar as king, and visit one of Cuba’s Jewish cemeteries / On Day Six, we’ll return to Havana for a day of activities and a 5-star farewell dinner.
